As people age, they suffer from a variety of health disorders. With the advancement in age, different degenerative and oxidative processes cause degeneration of various parts of the eye including the macula. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD or ARMD), is a medical condition that results in the loss of central vision due to the degeneration of the retina, particularly in the macular area. AMD is now the most common cause of irreversible vision loss in the western world.

Summary of Trial:

Abstract

Objective: Examining the effect of a nutritional supplement (Vitonnix® macular sublingual spray) on human eye health.

Study Design & Participants: The double-blind placebo-controlled study was conducted. Group A suffering from early or intermediate age-related macular degeneration and Group B, not affected with age-related macular degeneration.

All the 60 subjects were over 50 years of age. Patients with bilateral advanced AMD or any other pre-existing eye conditions were excluded from the study. The participants of each of the A and B groups were equally divided into test and placebo subgroups.

Methods: Vitonnix® macular sublingual spray was administered to the test groups. The placebo groups received a vitamin D sublingual spray. Effect of Vitonnix® macular spray-on contrast sensitivity, visual acuity and visual performance in the participants was assessed.

Results: After six month’s study period, there was an improvement in people who were on the MacuZohm® spray in terms of their mean contrast sensitivity, visual acuity and visual performance. There was no significant change in the scores of the placebo groups.

The study was a huge leap forward and Vitonnix® is committed to the constant and never-ending improvement of each of its products.

Zohm®-D – The Vitamin D Sublispray®

Vitamin D is a group of fat-soluble vitamin which is essential for the growth and development of the human body throughout the life cycle. In humans, the most essential compounds in this group are vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) and vitamin D2 (Ergocalciferol). Once vitamin D enters the circulation, it accumulates in the liver within a few hours. In the liver, vitamin D undergoes hydroxylation and soon thereafter, it appears in the circulation as 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 [(25(OH)D3]. The serum concentration of 25(OH)D3 is considered the best indicator of systemic vitamin D status.

In children, vitamin D deficiency gives birth to rickets, a disease characterized by the loss of bone tissue to properly mineralize, resulting in soft bones and skeletal deformities. In adults, the deficiency of vitamin D can lead to osteomalacia, resulting in weak bones. Symptoms like bone pain and muscle weakness indicate inadequate vitamin D levels in the body. Vitamin D deficiencies can be treated through nutritional supplements that can be administered via oral, sublingual, or intravenous routes.

Zohm-D® is a Vitamin-D product bu Vitonnix® using Sublispray® technology. Its efficacy is proven by trials as well as its numerous raving fan patients.

One study was conducted on a cohort of adult male and female subjects diagnosed with low serum levels of vitamin D. Participants consuming any nutritional supplement within 2 years before the start of the study were excluded. The participants were equally divided into three groups viz. test 1, test 2 and placebo. The test 1 group received one serving per day of Vitonnix® vitamin D Sublispray® (sublingual spray). The test 2 group received one vitamin D oral tablet per day. The placebo group received one starch tablet orally per day. The serum concentration of 25 (OH) D3 was measured at 0, 2, 4 and 6 weeks in all three groups.

At the end of 6 weeks study, the mean serum 25 (OH) D3 concentration in the test 1 group increased significantly many times from the initial whereas, in the test 2 group, the 25(OH)D3 concentration increased by a scant figure. For maintenance, a lower dose was found adequate.

A lot of our patients with longstanding, intractable deficiency also responded well. This included patients with non-healing wounds & fractures. Zohm-D® works by providing adequate supplementation, improving the body’s ability to heal.
